'Sands of Time' running out?

Next year sees the release of 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time', an adaptation of the best selling video game, however the question is will it fall under the same curse that made numerous other adaptations the flops they are today?
Look no further than the likes of 'Max Payne', 'Hitman' and even 'Tomb Raider' to see obituary of video game films that didn't quite make the cut but admittedly the future looks bright for this effort.
With Mike Newell - the brains behind films such as 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' and 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' - directing and Jake Gyllenhaal starring as the prince himself, the film does look to have good potential and may be an overdue success in the video game adaptation market.

'Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time' comes to cinemas on 28 May 2010 with a full review following.
